With all the snow we've been having, it's hard for the new mommies to bring their babies in to the studio for their first portraits. After much rescheduling, here are two recent newborns that made their debut.
I absolutely love the Fall! It's my favorite season of the year, with the crisp air and all the color on the trees. So given the chance to get out of the studio and do a session in the park was a pleasant change of pace. And since puppy dogs are another one of my favorite things, of course I had no problem when Mom asked for the family pet to be included in the session.
Normally there is a lot of cajoling going on during a newborn shoot to get the siblings into the portrait, but not during this recent session. Never have I seen a big brother so proud of his new sister, or so eager to get in every shot with her. His enthusiasm shows these lovely sibling portraits.
With the Yankees currently in 1st place, I've had a lot of requests from the Dads for Yankee themed portraits. As a lifelong fan myself, I'm happy to help these parents pass down their allegiance to The Bronx Bombers. First up is the next Derek Jeter, little newborn Kyler.
While reordering some background paper for the studio, I was intrigued to see that there was a roll available in a pretty lavender shade. Since I had been acquiring so many new baby girl props (tutus, hats, ruffle panties, etc) in that color, I wondered how the portraits would look if I used a background to match. The day after the roll arrived, it just so happened that little Milania's Mommy brought her to the studio for first photo session with her Tinkerbell tutu in hand. Now lucky was that! Here are her adorable portraits......
I have seriously neglected my blog recently. Between going down to
Louisiana for a speaking tour, and then having my three kids home for
the summer, time seems to be in very short supply. But the studio has
still been hoping, with Christenings, First Birthdays, and my favorite
of all, newborns! So many babies have been to the studio this summer for
their very first photo session, I thought I would dedicated this post
to their sweet cuteness. All of them were perfect little models!
Bringing a baby in before three weeks of age is a big factor to a
successful sitting, but it's not a guarantee of sleepiness as you'll
see. Here are the summer of 2010 babies.....
And Anthony, who didn't want to miss his closeup!
This week the studio will be closed while I take a painting class in
North Carolina. Luckily, I have some new babies to photograph when I
return! And some Christenings, First Birthdays.........I love my job!
Well, the weather was iffy again for our second day out in the park, and the changing light was driving me a little crazy. Thank goodness the kids were fantastic, and I have a ton of great images. Here is a little sneak peak, because I know the Mommies are anxiously waiting to see these portraits.
