So the end goal was to get all the kids together - my three human children (18, 12 & 8) and the three canine children - for a portrait for our holiday card. We knew including our cream cockerpoo Honey (4), our black & white cocker spaniel Bella (4), and the baby of the family, our brown & white cocker spaniel Zoe (1), was going to be a challenge. This is as close to perfect as we could get, but not without a ton of laughs along the way.
Okay, we cheated. We needed an assist from Daddy for the baby, who was quickly dismissed from the shoot.
Since our dogs are usually not in the studio, I thought it would be nice to get a portrait of each of them by themselves. Honey was a good girl and sat where I wanted her. One down.
This is the diva. After a few attempts to get her to sit where I wanted her, Bella decided to pose herself.
Since she is very skittish and afraid of her own shadow, and she seemed willing to sit on the paper, I told the kids to quickly get around her for a shot. Done.
Now I think she was enjoying getting her picture taken! The kids assembled themselves with Honey for the same pose - but Bella wasn't having it.
After shooing her off again, someone decided to get herself back into the picture regardless.
This is why we call her "love me best Bella". It was apparent she wasn't going to let me take a picture of her family without her.
So now it was time for the kids to pose without the puppies.
But the diva was still insisting she needed to be included.
Good thing diva doggies don't know about cropping.
I big puffy heart this - it sounds like a very fun session and the children look fantastic.
